INDIAN MARRIAGES : SEVEN VOWS The beauty of Indian Hindu wedding is that every ritual has some cultural and religious importance. Seven Vows is one of the significant part of Indian Hindu marriages . For the seven vows to take place, the holy fire is lit by the Pandit (Hindu Priest) by using wood, ghee, cow dung etc in Hawan Kund (Sacred fireplace). A ritual is known as Sapdapadi (Seven steps) where the bride and the groom go around the holy fire seven times during which the bride asks the groom for seven promises one by one.
